A pioneer of self-described "awkward-pop", London’s Belot has established an intoxicating and distinctive sound. ‘Math’ is energetic and lively, with her vocal hitting us over and over again with memorable hooks. She explains that the track is “about the struggle of not wanting a serious relationship in your youth. You are entangled with this person, and you care about them, but you just can't find it in you, to settle down quite yet.” The jittery, glittering production of the single is complemented by the kaleidoscopically colourful video that accompanies Belot’s first track of the year. -Dan Peeke
